Join Our Movement to Empower Communities with Solar Energy
Your Support, Their Empowerment
As we approach Earth Day 2024, the Solar Village Project celebrates a pivotal year of progress and partnership. Our journey towards a more sustainable and equitable world has been marked by the launch of transformative initiatives and the deepening of our impact in under served communities across India and the launch of our permanent program in Puerto Rico.
Our Initiatives: A Beacon of Hope
- Women in Solar Training Initiative: Empowering women to become leaders in the renewable energy revolution.
- Microfund for Low-Income Semi-Urban Households: Making the transition to clean, reliable energy accessible for more families.
- Solar Water Filtration: Utilizing solar power to ensure communities have access to clean, safe drinking water.
- Solar Street Lights: Brightening paths, enhancing safety, and fostering community gatherings after dusk.
Together with our foundational Solar Schools and Clinics Programs, which now encompass over 70 installations, and our efforts that have illuminated over 150 homes, we stand as a testament to what collective action can achieve.
Transforming Education with Solar Energy This Earth Day
As we honor Earth Day, the Solar Village Project is spotlighting the transformative potential of renewable energy across the Bahraich District of Uttar Pradesh. In areas plagued by frequent power cuts, our dedication to solar solutions promises a brighter future for students and communities.
Our Next Mission: Lighting Up Futures
Building on our successes, this Earth Day campaign sets an ambitious goal: to bring uninterrupted solar power to five schools in desperate need of reliable electricity. Through your support, we aim to ensure that students can pursue their education without disruption, fostering environments where learning and equality flourish. The schools we hope to empower include:
- Aadarsh Bawna School: Overcoming more than 8 hours of daily power cuts, our initiative now ensures 220 students have continuous access to education, illuminating their path to success.
- Panna Devi School: At the heart of a diverse community, our project supports 300 students by providing sustainable power, bridging over 7 hours of daily electricity gaps, and uniting families around the common goal of education.
- Nirmala Devi School: With 260 students experiencing over 9 hours of power disruptions daily, our solar installations have brought reliable electricity, fostering an environment where gender equality and education thrive.
- Pushpa Devi School: Serving 700 students in an area affected by over 8 hours of daily power cuts, our solar solutions transform the learning experience, ensuring the school’s legacy continues brightly into the future.
- Aadarsh Bawna School: Overcoming more than 8 hours of daily power cuts, our initiative now ensures 220 students have continuous access to education, illuminating their path to success.
- Saraswati Gyan School: Despite facing 6 hours of power outages daily and challenges like water scarcity, our efforts now benefit 275 students, empowering them with the tools for educational excellence.
Empowering Communities, One School at a Time
