Solar Village Project Update
We’ve had another successful year here at Solar Village Project. We implemented our first cyclone disaster relief project in Tamil Nadu, our largest solar lighting distribution yet, we completed our solar lighting Sales and Micro finance pilot, which was a big success, (you can read the full report here) and we finalized the schedule for the first phase of our education impact initiative with Johns Hopkins ISEP. As we plan for the coming year we are looking forward to a number of exciting new projects which you can read about below.

October 2019
CAMBU Bucarbones Puerto Rico

Next month in partnership with Rock Spring, Footprint Project and Mutial Aid Disaster Relief we will begin installing a solar array for a community center in Bucarbones Puerto Rico, a community that is still recovering from the hurricanes that struck the island in 2017. This will be the first of 3 projects we will be collaborating on in Puerto Rico in 2019/2020
December 2019
Education Impact Phase II

For this project we will install solar array’s for three rural schools in Southern India without access to electricity and distribute solar lanterns to all the children so they can study at night. Our partner in these projects is the Thinksharp Foundation which will provide the schools with educational infrastructure such as computers and digital learning tools.

Safe Drinking Water Project Expansion March 2020
Building upon the success of our solar powered water filtration plant in Chikulia village we will be expanding the project, using our existing plant to deliver water to the neighboring village of Pahari which is built on bed rock and has zero access to water in the village. The inhabitants of Pahari rely on an open well on the outskirts of their village which is contaminated and unsafe.
